San Sebastian could add up to a thousand posts just to show half the fun, but I will keep it at a minimum. Upon arrival we had decided we would return again someday. It was so exciting going from the city and subways of Paris to a beach and boardwalk! We walked the beaches along the Cantabrian Sea, bar hopped along the small streets of Tapas bars which proved to be more than we ever imagined. A highlight was watching the sunset beyond the Isla de Santa Clare that held a solo light house. {observe my mix of Spanish/English}. A little FYI: San Sebastian is known for these `world famous´ tapas (pintxos) bars that fill many small streets and `claims the most bars per square meter in the world.´ The beaches were unlike any beach we had ever seen and we spent some time watching the surfers, kite surfers and hang-glider. We had a couple warm days, and a couple wet ones. It did not stop our hiking the two small islands, Monte Urgall and Monte Igueldo with some of the most specacular views no camera can really capture.
food!
ReplyDeleteJo and Joe,
ReplyDeleteYour cousin Brian did a "stage" (they use that word for short-term course) in Spanish in San Sebastion in 1992. He loved it.
It looks like you aren't getting the best weather. April showers....
